- Read H. P. Lovecraft. Worship at his altar.
- Attend a workshop which is only prestigious within genre circles. Brag about it to everyone, and all the time.
- Scorn genre conventions.
- Adhere to genre conventions.
- Say you love myths and Joseph Campbell.
- Never read myths or folktales.
