#WriterLifeMonth Day 23: Bucket list item
Holding a copy of a book I’ve written in my hands. Preferably hardcover, but I will take what I can get. 🙂
Day 24: Bucket list item done
Writing a novel length manuscript. I wrote a 60k work in the fall of 2011, which is technically novel length, albeit, a very short novel.
I have since written longer, composite works.
Day 25: 2016 book you can’t wait to read
I can’t think of any one 2016 book that I can’t wait to read. So I will just go with the book I can’t wait to read this year. That would be The Sin Eater by Deborah Randall. It’s her first and only book of poems. I’ve already started reading it, and so far it is just incredible. I love her poems so much. They are so layered and melodic to the ear. I will have to read the book a couple times, and I am looking forward to every reading.
Day 26: Favorite bookstore/library
Poor Richard’s bookstore, which is downtown. It’s a cute little bookstore with a huge variety of books to choose from, many in mint condition. Plus, you can trade in books for credit.
There’s a little restaurant next door. And there are patios outside, both in the front and back of the building. So you can sit outside and sip a cup of tea (or wine), eat cake, and read a new book you just bought with store credit. If that’s not heaven, then I don’t know what is.
